The energy sector has also seen substantial cooperation between the two countries, focusing on renewable energy, climate initiatives, decarbonization, and ensuring energy security. This was further reinforced in 2022 when the UAE and Germany inked a deal to bolster energy security and industrial collaboration, which includes the supply of UAE liquefied natural gas to Germany and joint ventures aimed at advancing clean energy and climate projects.
Beyond commerce and energy, the partnership between the UAE and Germany extends into research, technology, infrastructure, and cultural exchanges. This multifaceted relationship was formally recognized in 2004 through a strategic partnership agreement that laid the groundwork for collaboration in areas such as regional security, economic development, and research.
