In Abu Dhabi, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan led Eid Al Adha prayers at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque on Wednesday morning, accompanied by senior leaders, officials, and numerous worshippers. Following the prayers, Sheikh Mohamed exchanged Eid greetings with those present, marking the commencement of this significant religious festival.
During the Eid sermon, Dr. Omar Al Darei, who chairs the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, and Zakat, highlighted the vital role of honesty in building trust, fostering national unity, and ensuring social stability. He also commended the UAE leadership for their dedication to strengthening the nation through unity and a focus on national interests. Sheikh Mohamed was flanked by several prominent UAE leaders, including Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed, and Sheikh Saif bin Zayed. Together with the worshippers, they recited Al Fatiha in remembrance of the UAE’s Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Across the Emirates, similar scenes unfolded as UAE rulers and senior leaders joined citizens and residents for Eid prayers at various major mosques. In Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed performed prayers at the Zabeel Grand Mosque, while in Sharjah, Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi joined worshippers at the Sharjah Mosque.
In Ajman, Eid prayers were led by Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi at the Al Zaher Palace Mosque. Meanwhile, Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi performed prayers at the Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Fujairah. In Umm Al Quwain, Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla offered his prayers at the Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Mualla Mosque, and in Ras Al Khaimah, Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi joined the congregation at the Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Mosque.
The prayers signified the beginning of Eid Al Adha celebrations throughout the UAE, drawing thousands to mosques nationwide to partake in this cherished occasion.
