The UAE is actively participating in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) ministerial meetings in Bahrain, aimed at enhancing regional industrial cooperation and bolstering supply-chain resilience. Led by Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, the UAE delegation is engaging in discussions at the GCC Industrial Cooperation Committee and the Ministerial Committee for Standardization Affairs, which run from October 6 to 8 alongside the Made in GCC Forum and Exhibition 2026.
The meetings focus on deeper industrial integration among GCC nations, leveraging advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, and increasing private-sector involvement in regional projects. The goal is to strengthen the competitiveness of Gulf industries by merging the capabilities of GCC countries and fostering more integrated regional value chains.
UAE companies are showcasing their national products and industrial technologies, highlighting opportunities for collaboration in manufacturing, investment, technology, and supply chains. The discussions also cover aspects of industrial financing, innovation, infrastructure, and supply-chain resilience, with several memorandums of understanding expected to be signed between UAE entities and GCC companies to expand industrial partnerships.
In 2025, the UAE’s industrial exports reached Dh260 billion, with Dh92 billion attributed to medium- and high-technology industrial exports. The National In-Country Value (ICV) Programme has redirected over Dh473 billion into the UAE economy cumulatively, supporting local companies and strengthening domestic supply chains.
The UAE’s involvement in these meetings underscores its commitment to building stronger industrial links across the GCC and fostering a more integrated and competitive regional industrial sector. The focus on advanced technology and collaborative efforts among GCC countries is seen as a strategic move to enhance the overall industrial capability and resilience of the region.
