The United Arab Emirates has announced a notable decrease in fuel prices for July, providing much-needed relief to drivers who have been facing rising costs due to previous disruptions in the global oil market. The Fuel Price Committee has lowered prices across all categories, including Super 98, Special 95, E-Plus, and diesel, marking the first monthly decline since February. This adjustment comes as global crude oil prices have fallen, thanks to improved supply conditions in the region.
Motorists can now expect to pay Dh3.40 per litre for Super 98 petrol, down from Dh3.95. Similarly, Special 95 and E-Plus have seen reductions exceeding 50 fils per litre. Diesel prices experienced the most significant drop, decreasing by 73 fils to Dh3.60 per litre. These cuts follow a period of easing in global oil prices during June, as concerns about prolonged disruptions in shipping through the Strait of Hormuz subsided and diplomatic efforts contributed to stabilizing the situation. Brent crude prices have now moved closer to the levels seen before the conflict began.
Although fuel prices are still higher compared to earlier in the year, the reduction in July helps alleviate the financial pressure on commuters and families. Analysts note that future fuel prices will be influenced by the stability of geopolitical tensions and the ongoing recovery of global oil supply.
This pricing adjustment is a welcome change for many residents who have been grappling with the impact of rising fuel costs on their daily budgets. The UAE’s decision to lower fuel prices reflects a broader trend of declining global oil prices, driven by a combination of improved supply chains and diplomatic resolutions in key regions.
As the situation continues to evolve, the focus will remain on monitoring geopolitical developments and their potential effects on the oil market. For now, the July price cuts offer some respite to UAE motorists and highlight the importance of stable international relations in maintaining accessible energy costs.
